GETS WINGS
As part of celebrating 10 years in business, Lloyd Moulder, co-founder of designer bathroom supplier BathWorks, based in Woodford Green and Milton Keynes, has accepted a Charity Challenge to raise £10,000 for local charity Haven House Children's Hospice with a programme of fundraising activities.
Lloyd said "Ten years in business should be a celebration especially in these lean economic times. I wanted to challenge myself to do something to help others less fortunate. Just visiting Haven House is a revelation with the great work it does for all the children who stay there and their families."
On Saturday April 26th at Headcorn Airfield in Kent, Lloyd will take a 20 minute plane ride and when it reaches 12,000 feet he will throw himself out of the plane in freefall for 45 seconds at up to speeds of 120 miles per hour. Fortunately it will be a tandem skydive so we can expect him to land safely!
Lloyd's wife Julie and their two boys Frankie and Freddie will be cheering him on along with friends and family who will all come out to support his magnificent fundraising efforts.

Haven House needs to raise £2.5 million annually in order to continue the excellent services provided; maintain the centre and the running costs. Around 70% comes from fundraising initiatives. Fundraising can be an exhausting business and with public expenditure under extreme pressure, it is very likely Haven House we will need to rely even more heavily on fundraisers like Lloyd Moulder. But he needs help too - raising sponsorship to reach his target is his priority.
Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House, said "We are delighted to be working in partnership with Bathworks, a company very local to Haven House Children's Hospice. Their support throughout the year will help to raise vital funds to help support local life-limited children and their families."
Lloyd plans to keep details of his fund raising challenge on the new website www.bath-works.co.uk and support can be added by clicking on http://www.justgiving.com/bathworks
Lloyd Moulder, Co-Founder of designer bathroom supplier Bathworks, based in Woodford Green, is edging closer to the target of £10,000 he is raising for local charity Haven House which works with children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and unlikely to reach adulthood.
Celebrating 10 years in business Lloyd began his fundraising journey in September 2013 and formed a partnership with Haven House which was celebrating 10 years of caring.
Lloyd said “It’s a big challenge but with help I am sure I will make it. As a dad I know the value of family time and how precious it is. Those of us with healthy children are very lucky. Less fortunate families have desperately unhappy lives and Haven House Hospice makes sure these children get the best care and are able to have ‘fun’ while they are at the hospice.”
On Sunday 1st June Lloyd headed up a team of eight who took up a White Water Rafting challenge at the Lea Valley Centre.
He said “This was a great challenge and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. We went five times around the course and four of the team managed to stay on the raft. I joined the others spending some time in the water.
“I want to say a big thanks to all the team for their efforts and fundraising helping me raise more money towards my target.”
Lloyd’s fundraising plans also include throwing himself out of a plane at 12,000 feet, weather permitting. Fortunately it will be a tandem skydive so he can expect to land safely! Fundraising to date stands at £8,691.
